Call of Duty 2025 won't be a major leap from Black Ops 6

Insider Gaming, managed by Tom Henderson, reports that the forthcoming Call of Duty 2025 might be released on older platforms. According to insider CharlieIntel, work is underway on versions intended for the PS4 and Xbox One. However, he wasn't able to tell whether this was the final decision of the developers.
As CharlieIntel claims, the potential release of the game on eighth-generation consoles is most likely dictated by their high popularity. For fans of the Call of Duty series who still haven't decided to upgrade their equipment, this could be an advantage. This is also a more beneficial solution for Activision Blizzard, which could suffer losses if for PS4 and Xbox One is withdrawn. On the other hand, this means that, following last year's CoD: Black Ops 6 model, the new installment will probably not offer significant improvements for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series S/X owners. Under the informant's post on X, many comments appeared suggesting that launching the game on consoles older than 10 years impedes the series' progress.
