Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak goes live today, a Steam companion app announced
Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak is going to launch today. Pre-ordering the game on Steam grants free access to the Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak Expedition Guide companion app and a digital copy of Homeworld Remastered Collection.
Only a couple of hours remain until the release of Homeworld Remastered Collection for free or, if you happen to already own that, a 20 percent discount. Moreover, a Steam companion app was announced as a pre-order bonus, called Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak Expedition Guide (check out the video below). The app will also be available for standalone purchase after the release.
The prequel to cult RTS series Homeworld will take us onto the surface of a desert planet of Kharak. There we will witness the events that forced the people of Kushan to leave their world behind in search for a new home. Although we won’t see any space battles, the title will follow the tradition of the franchise when it comes to the grand scale of skirmishes. Developers from Blackbird Interactive prepared vast battlefields, multiple vehicles to command, and diverse combat tactics to use. Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak will feature both a single player campaign as well as a competitive and cooperative multiplayer.
