English voice of White Wolf cheers for Ciri in The Witcher 4. „You can't just have Geralt for every single game”

Geralt's voice actor is happy that Ciri will be the main character of the fourth installment. According to Doug Cockle, with the new protagonist, CD Projekt Red will show a different side of the rich universe.

Since December last year and the memorable The Game Awards 2024 gala, we know that Ciri will play the lead role in the series still cannot come to with it. Doug Cockle, the actor who played Geralt in the English version of the games, is really rooting for the new protagonist of the series. The artist decided to respond to the comment in which the choice of Ciri as the protagonist was called a manifestation of woke.

It's a cool character from The Witcher, and they're gonna focus on that character. I think that's awesome. You can't just have Geralt for every single game for The Witcher ad nauseam through eternity. - Doug Cockle stated in a video posted on the Fall Damage channel on YouTube.

The actor emphasized that the White Wolf's journey ended with the finale of the Blood and Wine expansion. The rich world is still waiting to be discovered, but its creators couldn't show it while the story was focused on Geralt. He shared his opinion while recording his reactions to memes from The Witcher games.

Celebrate Ciri, I celebrate her being the protagonist. [...] If you think it's woke, read the damn books. They're good, first of all. And secondly, you won't think it's so woke anymore.

Doug Cockle's statement aligns with the words of the developers from CD Projekt Red, who believe that Ciri deserves her own story. Although the change of the protagonist raises doubts among some fans, the devs assure that it is very well motivated. However, it's definitely too early to reveal any plot details about The Witcher 4.
