Fallout 4 Expansion Pack
Release Date: March 22, 2016
The first DLC for Fallout 4, Bethesda's action RPG that came out in November, 2015. The expansion introduces a new storyline connected to the mysterious Mechanist who unleashed an army or hostile robots, led by the cunning machines known as Robobrains, upon the Commonwealth. As one might guess, the player’s task is to deal with the new mechanical enemies whose appearance had also created an opportunity to expand on some of the gameplay mechanics.
Automatron is the first DLC for Fallout 4, a sandbox RPG for PC, PS4 and XONE and other platforms. The PC, PS4 and XONE version was developed by Bethesda studio, just like the vanilla game.
Automatron introduces a new storyline connected to the mysterious Mechanist. The villain unleashed an army or hostile robots, headed by the cunning machines known as the Robobrains, upon the Commonwealth. The player’s task is to neutralize the new threat.
For the developers, the introduction of a previously unknown danger created an opportunity to expand on some of the gameplay mechanics. Eliminating the Mechanist’s robots, the players gather parts which can then be used for constructing and upgrading their own mechanical henchmen that accompany them while wandering the wasteland. There are a myriad of components available—including unique weapons, armor, and others—that allow us to build robots that suit our personal needs. The machines can also be customized by changing their painting patterns and even voices.

Aside from the quest being a tad short, there are some major positives and I think the Automatron DLC fits quite nicely with the rest of Fallout 4 in general.
Destructoid: 6 / 10 by Jordan Devore
Going in with modest expectations despite that price point, this is a decent DLC release. The main draw, the robot-building feature, is cooler and more extensive than expected. I wouldn't get Automatron for its story alone, though. And I'd also hesitate to recommend it if you've already had your fill of adventures across the Commonwealth. You're better off waiting for Far Harbor and its new setting.
Gaming Nexus: 8 / 10 by Randy Kalista
Automatron pays off by taking advantage of Fallout 4's pulpy, ludicrous--yet still somehow slightly dry--sense of humor. Like any good sci-fi involving robots, it exposes people's humanity and inhumanity. And it adds new toys and settlement pieces to your toolbox. It's a well-rounded piece of DLC, and introduces you to the Mechanist, one of Fallout 4's more memorable villains.
