A TPP action adventure game filled with humor and based on the popular Funko Pop characters. In Funko Fusion we can visit around 20 themed worlds from the Universal studio brands, including Back to the Future, Jurassic World, Battlestar Galactica, Jaws and Chucky.

Our main task in the game is to defend the worlds created under the banner of the Universal film studio from the evil version of Freddy Funko, the friendly mascot of the Funko Pop collection. We can visit the universes of such brands as Back to the Future, Jaws, Battlestar Galactica, The Umbrella Academy, Chucky, Masters of the Universe, or Invincible.
Evil Freddy haunts worlds, taking control over their iconic character. The possessed character emanates a purple glow, is hypnotized, and has Freddy's crown on their head.
The game focuses on unlocking and collecting characters inspired by Funko Pop figures. Over 60 unique characters from 20 different franchises have been made available to us. We control the character we've picked and traverse different worlds and locations, fight enemies and solve simple puzzles.
Importantly, each character has its own type of weapon and special moves. Some heroes also have unique abilities that allow them to solve puzzles and find secrets invisible to them.
Duels with enemies are diverse. Fighting from a distance, we can defeat the enemies by shooting at them and blowing them up. Approaching the enemies closer, we can destroy them in hand-to-hand combat.
Moreover, during the gameplay, we have the opportunity to create gadgets and various items, which will allow not only to gain an advantage during battles, but also to unlock hidden areas.
Funko Fusion can be played alone or together with friends in online cooperation mode for up to four people.

Considering the mature sense of humor and somewhat obscure references, the simplistic gameplay loop and premise don’t fit at all with its “charming” Lego-esque vibes. There are so many sections that miss the mark, and this game relies fully on the series names and characters that are in it. Some of them might be neat, but rarely do they feel like a reason for you to even consider picking the game up. Add in game breaking bugs, softlocks and more, and there’s basically no reason to give Funko Fusion a go, even for an ironic playthrough.

Funko Fusion is a slog to play. The puzzles are uninteresting, and the third-person shooting is tedious. It uses its mature movie franchises in strange ways, adding glood and violence to old-school slapstick comedy, creating a tonal mess.
