Persona 5 Tactica is a tactical spin-off of Persona 5. It once again stars the Phantom Thieves, visiting an entirely new world, where they help the local rebels fight tyrannical Legionnaires.
Persona 5 Tactica is a tactical spin-off of the fifth installment. It once again stars Joker and the Phantom Thieves, though features a slightly different artstyle. It was developed by a Japanese studio Atlus.
Persona 5 Tactica is a separate story without much connection to the storyline of Persona 5. This time, the Phantom Thieves find themselves in a beautiful land ruled by tyrants. They quickly encounter hostile Legionnaires and are saved by a revolutionary, Erina, whose group opposes the world's rulers. Joker and his friends forces with her to free the land from tyranny.
Although Persona 5 Tactica features the same cast and turn-based combat, the gameplay significantly differs from the main Persona series. Rather than a jRPG, it's a tactical strategy with sRPG elements, reminiscent of Fire Emblem, though with battles being of a smaller scale. Players control a party of three, moving them across 3D maps, making use of the Thieves' abilities and the environment (including various types of cover used to sneak up on enemies).
The game also retains some mechanics from Persona 5, such as One More (an extra attack after knocking down an enemy) and All-Out Attacks, here called Triple Threats. These powerful team beatdowns can be executed by correctly positioning your party, surrounding the enemies in a triangle formation.
Just like the gameplay, the visuals of Persona 5 Tactica draw from Persona 5, but differ in many aspects. Though the interface, soundtrack and voice acting didn't change much, the game now uses a chibi artstyle, distinguished by tiny characters with huge heads.

A series of jRPG games overseen by Atlus. The series was launched in 1996, by the game Revelations: Persona, which is a spin-off of the brand Shin Megami Tensei (originally known globally as Revelations). The production, which debuted on PlayStation consoles, was so successful that it eventually gave rise to a new, separate series. Although from the beginning the series was associated with PlayStation consoles, over the years it has also made its presence felt on other platforms.

Hardcore Gamer: 3.5 / 5 by Jacob Bukacek
Persona 5 Tactica isn’t something that’s going to blow anyone away, neither Persona fans nor fans of tactical RPGs. Its story is decent and interesting enough to see the players through to the end, but it likely won’t leave much of any lasting impact. The same goes for its overall presentation and music. Much of it is fun to look at and listen to, and there's genuine enjoyment to be had, but none of it is anything one will for long after putting it down. Atlus did manage to craft a fun and interesting combat system here, though, one that’s simple and easy enough for genre newcomers to enjoy and which also offers enough depth to give those familiar with these sorts of games a few fun hours. Persona 5 Tactica is nothing genre defining, but it’s fun enough, especially for those who’d like another chance to spend some more time with the Phantom Thieves.

Nintendo Life: 9 / 10 by Mitch Vogel
Persona 5 Tactica is a thrillingly varied tactical RPG that fans of the Phantom Thieves and the genre should take note of. It's a little on the easy side, but the varied gameplay, excellent soundtrack, striking visuals, and lovable characters all make for a very easy recommendation here.
