After World of Tanks and World of Warplanes, Wargaming.net (the company also known for strategy games like Massive Assault, Galactic Assault, and Order of War) brings us yet another MMO. Similarly to its predecessors, the game allows us to participate in the various armed conflicts of the twentieth-century; this time, commanding our own warship.
World of Warships is a PC online action game with simulation and MMO elements. It's a free-to-play title, featuring microtransactions, created by Wargaming, already known for World of Warplanes. All three of these games share the same virtual currency.
World of Warships doesn't have a story. The game focuses on online naval battles against other players. The developers haven't strictly stuck to a single time period. The available ships come from the 1900-1950, though most of them were used during World War II.
They were fielded by such countries as the USA, Japan, USSR, and Great Britain. Players can choose their ships freely, meaning the teams can mix-and-match units from different countries.
World of Warships focuses on naval battles between two teams, each player controlling a single warship. These are divided into four classes - destroyers, cruisers, battleships and aircraft carriers - each with unique strengths and weaknesses. The gameplay combines arcade and simulation elements. On one hand, the ships' stats, such as firepower and speed, match the actual capabilities of their real-life counterparts. The controls, however, are heavily simplified and easy to grasp. Succeeding at World of Warships requires co-operation with your teammates.
Players can own more than a single ship, unlocking new ones and upgrading them between battles in development trees - one per class. This requires much effort and time (or microtransactions), so you should carefully consider each decision. Each ship also has a captain assigned to it, who has his own development tree.
World of Warships features several competitive PvP modes and co-op battles against the AI. There are also training missions, during which one can polish their skills before playing with others.

Game Ratings for World of Warships Video Game.
DualShockers: 8 / 10 by Giuseppe Nelva
Even those who are bothered by the business model, can still experience the first five or six tiers of all the available nations without really needing to spend a dime, and enjoying a metric ton of great content and fun gameplay. There are some flaws here and there, but obliterating a cruiser with shells that weigh as much as a car is too satisfying to up.
DarkZero: 8 / 10 by Dominic Sheard
Once you get past the idea of being a ship collector with its limited storage space and World of Warships' free-to-play expensive shenanigans, which shouldn't be that much of a negative against the game's great gameplay, World of Warships ends up a refreshing title. This is thanks to the exciting naval combat, a wide collection of warships, engrossing class types and pretty visuals, all which blend together in a rewarding time to bring a very unique type of combat to multiplayer team-based games, making this Wargaming's best World of title to date.
Pixelophobia: 8.3 / 10 by Łukasz Ankudo
World of Warships is a brilliant game that makes naval combat exciting. It looks, sounds and plays great. In addition it's robust and well made. What not to like about it?
