Having a destroyed weapon or armor might make your situation pretty unpleasant, especially if it happens during combat. This is why you should know how to repair such items. This page of our Oblivion Remastered guide will tell you all about it.

Item durability

Each item has its durability. In other words, it's weapons health. If it reaches 0, the item will break. Broken items are much less effective. In of broken weapons, they only deal 50% of the regular attack. As for broken armor, it provides 75% worse protection against damage. You can see the current durability of items in your inventory next to the heart icon.

Weapon and armor repair

There are two options for repairing your equipment:

  1. Repair Hammers - these are items that will help restore the durability of an item by a certain amount. Furthermore, they will improve your Armorer skill. The higher it is, the greater the values that will be restored using Repair Hammers.
  2. Visiting merchants - they can repair your equipment and will restore its full health. This service, however, comes at a cost. So, if you want to repair your broken items, to collect some gold first.
